The motorist who had been seriously injured by bullets by two police officers from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) of Stains (Seine-Saint-Denis), in August, was sentenced, Friday, February 18, to two years in prison by the court de Bobigny for “refusal to comply” and “violence with a weapon”, in this case his car. The driver, 37, was placed under arrest warrant.

He was also ordered to pay nearly 15,000 euros in damages to three police officers, his lawyer Yassine Bouzrou and the Bobigny prosecution reported on Saturday. Two of these police officers from the Stains BAC had been placed in police custody in August for “attempted intentional homicide” and heard by the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).

On the night of August 15 to 16, around 1:30 a.m., they opened fire on the motorist’s vehicle in an attempt to stop him, after a refusal to comply. The driver had received several bullets in the chest, arm and pubis, while his companion and passenger, aged 39, had been injured in the back, according to the prosecution.

Judicial information had been opened, in August, for “willful violence with a weapon by a person holding public authority” in order to allow other hearings and expertise to be carried out under the aegis of an investigating judge.

Yassine Bouzrou will for his part demand the release of his client. He also filed a complaint against the police for “attempted murder” and “false public writing”, as well as a request for a change of scenery.
