Some fears are sometimes irrational and inexplicable… And Nathalie Baye knows something about it! The one who has suffered from claustrophobia for many years is struggling to heal from this phobia inherited from her dad, Claude Baye.
The proof, according to our colleagues from Sunday newspaper, Laura Smet’s mother usually takes the stairs rather than the elevator when she goes to her psychoanalyst: ” Office […] that she was going to see in Paris was located beyond the tenth floor of a tower. The elevator was closed. Nathalie went up on foot”explains the weekly.
“Totally closed elevators, cars with no rear doors, MRIs in hospitals, rooms with no windows are impossible for her”, also indicate our colleagues. For her part, Nathalie Baye said about this phobia: “I can’t fight… It’s irrational. I’ve been trying to heal myself for a very long time…”
“I feel like I’m locked in a vertical coffin”
Fortunately, Nathalie Baye seems to have found the right way to permanently get rid of her claustrophobia: hypnosis sessions. “I’ve been trying to heal myself with hypnosis for a very long time, and it works quite well. When an elevator is large and glazed, it’s fine; otherwise, I feel like I’m locked in a vertical coffin”she confided to our colleagues from Marie Claire. A difficult phobia to overcome, but never say never!
