Rome | Water returns to the ancient baths of Caracalla

(Rome) A “mirror of water” in an ancient complex in Rome: the majestic Baths of Caracalla inaugurated on Thursday an aquatic pool in which its remains are reflected, as part of a process of modernization of the site.

This pool, called Lo Specchio (“The Mirror”), allows the famous remains of the colossal Roman baths built in 216 to be reflected on the vast surface of water, which measures 42 meters in length and 32 in width.

“With this spectacular “Specchio”, we want to begin a journey of renovation and opening to the city of one of the most important archaeological sites of the capital,” explained Daniela Porro, one of the people responsible for the cultural sites of Rome.
