Robots and humanoids show off their prowess at an exhibition in Tokyo

Engineers from around the world gather in Tokyo to showcase their inventions at the international robot exhibition IREX 2023.

We can notably see a humanoid, created by the Japanese company Kawasaki, capable of picking up trash bags and carrying boxes.

“The humanoid robot is designed like a real man, with a height of 180 centimeters and a weight of 80 kilograms,” explains Mikihiko Makita, spokesperson, Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Our company motto is to create a humanoid that is strong enough not to break even if dropped. »

The humanoid is equipped with numerous sensors, which allows it to move autonomously. Kawasaki would like to equip it with Artificial Intelligence (AI) so that it becomes “more and more independent and can learn for itself. »

Another attraction: a massage robot founded by the AUBO company.

“We designed the robot based on the concept of Chinese medicine. We have already sold more than 5,000 units, many of them to massage parlors in China,” says Yang Lei, spokesperson at AUBO.
