Régis Labeaume has never had his tongue in his pocket. And now, it is from his keyboard that the former mayor of Quebec will take a critical look at the major issues in Quebec, with the outspokenness and colorful style that we know him. And who we like!

In fact, Régis Labeaume is beginning a regular collaboration today in the Debates section of The Press, which I wish him as pleasant as fruitful. With this forum, the trained sociologist will make use of all the richness of his political and economic background.
In 14 years as mayor of Quebec, Régis Labeaume has left his mark on the capital, from celebrations of the 400and anniversary of the city up to the file of the tramway.
But he is also a seasoned businessman. He knows as much about natural resources – he who founded the mining company Mazarin in the 1980s – as about high technologies where he was involved at the Cité de l’Optique and at Innovatech Québec, for example.
And he is a man connected to the regions, since he spent his childhood in Lac-Saint-Jean and on the North Shore and worked for a long time in Abitibi.
I wish Régis Labeaume the most cordial welcome. And to all of you, a great read.
