After the agreement between rebellious France and the Socialist Party, ratified this Thursday evening by the national council of the PS with 62% of favorable votes, the question of the dissident socialist candidatures arises.

>> Union on the left: “There will be provisions” to prevent and exclude dissident candidacies, according to Adrien Quatennens

The agreement was validated by 167 members of the national council while 101 voted against and 24 abstained. The Socialists are therefore divided and party figures have already announced that they will support the candidacies of dissident Socialist candidates.

This is the case, for example, of the president of the Occitanie region Carole Delga, who wishes to support six PS candidates in her territory, even in the face of “rebellious” candidates, environmentalists or communists.

This is also the case of the mayor of Le Mans and former Minister of Agriculture of François Hollande Stéphane Le Foll, who said he was ready, Wednesday May 5 on France 2, to “lead the campaign“for the legislative elections of the dissidents of the PS.

Immediate exclusion of socialist dissidents

However, the leadership of the Socialist Party is very clear : each dissident socialist candidate qAnyone who stands against a candidate from the New Popular, Democratic and Social Union (Nupes) will be expelled from the party.

An internal standoff will therefore continue in the coming days in the direction and Carole Delga. The management, on the other hand, wishes launch this Friday, May 6, their campaign in the 70 constituencies obtained under this agreement. Thirty are deemed “winnable”.
