The agreement between the Liberals and the New Democrats to prevent the federal government from falling in the House of Commons will end that year.

In 2015, the leader of the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau, promised the elimination by 2021 of all boil water advisories in force among First Nations.

But right now there are 34 notices in 29 communities.

Mme Hajdu is reluctant to set a more specific deadline, as ongoing work to address this issue is encountering technical and logistical obstacles. Among these: infrastructure and travel to isolated communities.

She recalls that funding is not part of the problem. She hopes that all work will be completed by 2025, at the latest.
