We haven’t seen them on stage together since 2016. Between Philippe Chevalier and Régis Laspalès of the famous duo Chevalier et Lasplès, there is no longer any professional collaboration, but not much collaboration on a personal level either, if we are to believe the declarations of the first, this October 6, 2023.
“I don’t see him much anymore”
Guest of Pascal Praud, on CNews, the 67-year-old comedian answered questions from the host of “Time for the pros” on a possible comeback with his former partner. And he asked her, a little sadly: “If you meet Régis… I don’t see him much anymore, well no because he chose to take off, I must have been quite annoying no doubt, because after 35 years, he was dead , he got fed up, ooh that’s an interesting slip of the tongue.”
Regarding their long-standing friendship, Philippe Chevalier also admitted: “Well no, we don’t really have any relationships anymore, he does theater on his side, I do mine, it’s a bit of a shame. I think he’s ruined the business a bit, but hey , we don’t do this job for the money.”.
“No, we’re not angry.”
No doubt a little sad to no longer have any news from the one with whom he made so many fans laugh, (we are thinking in particular of the show “It’s up to you !”, in 1992) he assumed: “It’s a renewal, we have to be like the phoenix”. And to assure, to respond to possible rumors about their breakup: “no we’re not angry”.
In 2016, the duo separated at the initiative of Régis Laspalès who wanted to pursue a career in cinema, alone. We saw it in “Superhero in spite of himself“, in 2021, “A little miracle”in 2022, and “My crime“, in 2023. On the television side, he was in “I love you hairstyle” by Muriel Robin in 2020.
