Air Miles makes its debut at Dollarama

Good news for users of the Air Miles points card: the loyalty program announces a partnership with Dollarama.

Air Miles became the property of BMO last month. The Bank had therefore announced that new partnerships were imminent, as well as an enhancement of the program. Mastercard or BMO credit card holders will be entitled to additional points when shopping at Dollarama.

“Our promise to Canadians, especially in these tough economic times, is to provide the most flexible and expansive ways to earn miles on everyday purchases,” said Shawn Stewart, President of the AIR Reward Program. MILES, in a statement issued Wednesday morning.

Air Miles has nearly 10 million users in Canada, but has seen better days. Several of its partners have dropped it in recent years, such as Jean Coutu and IGA, which preferred to turn to an in-house loyalty program.

Dollarama has 1,500 stores in Canada. The partnership with Air Miles will begin on August 7.
