A gin in the image of Ginette Reno

It is a little in spite of herself that Ginette Reno finds her name and her image on the bottles of the new gin • ette, offered since Thursday on the SAQ site. In fact, the great Quebec singer has lent herself to the game of a project born from the imagination of her son Pascalin Raynault.

“You would have told me that I would have a gin in my image today, I would never have believed you.” My son had to have the idea of gin • ette, ”writes the popular singer on her Facebook page, admitting in passing that she is just not the type to drink any kind of drink.

So she couldn’t answer her son when he asked her what his gin should taste like. “In my time, it was big gin,” she continues in the message sent to the social network. He [m’a expliqué] that now Quebec gins are more refined and that we can have several aromatic profiles. He [m’a dit] : “Why wouldn’t we do like your chamomile tea with lemon, that would be good, right?” “

It is therefore with Ginette Reno’s favorite infusion in mind, as well as chemist and developer of alcoholic products David Bérubé, created gin • ette. The dry gin produced in association with the Les Subversifs distillery thus offers notes of cardamom, citrus fruits, lemongrass and chamomile. It is distilled in Sorel-Tracy in a small 350-liter still with various botanical ingredients such as juniper berry, angelica root, coriander seeds, lemon, orange and grapefruit peels, cardamom, licorice, lemongrass as well as chamomile flowers. We therefore say that the new gin is in the image of the great lady of Quebec song, both powerful and delicate.

Gin • ette is available in a 750 ml format exclusively on SAQ.com at a price of $ 48. Of the number, 100 bottles will be autographed by Ginette Reno, they will be offered at random, exclusively during online orders. Gin • ette will be on the shelves of the SAQ over the next year.
