In a film just released at the cinema, children meet residents of nursing homes. A moving moment that we also find in real life.

It’s an after-school ritual that these students from Saint-Gaudens (Upper Garonne) adore. Homework assistance takes place at the Ehpad. Facing the teacher’s blackboard, an assembly of very friendly students and residents. “We concentrate here because there is no TV. It’s good to say hello to grandpas and grandmas”says a little boy. A resident adds: “AT from the moment we do something, we start living again!. An idea that is also used in the film When you will be greatin the routine of a nursing home with overworked staff. The town hall then has a funny idea: use the E canteenhpad for kids. A place often considered a relegation zone.

“A society that has trouble with people who are in a fragile situation is a society that is going badly for me and it’s nice to show these characters”confides the actor Vincent Macaigne. Characters from different generations who first meet in a tense atmosphere then relax thanks to moments of complicity. “It’s a film about the hope of understanding each other better, looking at each other better, of taking more time”confides the director. AT the exit of the first session this Wednesday morning, the spectators are touched. “Hyper moving, poetic…shares one of them. “The elderly will live longer and the young will need the elderly to know them”adds another spectator. This film also reminds us that joy is contagious.
