What to remember from the long weekend of the national holiday?

After several editions canceled due to the pandemic, the traditional National Day parade was back on Saturday afternoon in Montreal with a new route. The kick-off was given at 1:30 p.m. on boulevard Saint-Joseph Est, at the corner of rue Molson.

The parade wandered east towards Pie IX Boulevard, then ended around Maisonneuve Park, where the festivities continued into the evening, with the National Day concert. The rain had stopped in time to allow thousands of Quebecers to gather under the songs of Quebec artists; from Jay Jay to Marjo, there was something for all ages.

Hosted by Pierre-Yves Lord, the show under the theme “Enter the dance of happiness” brought together on stage FouKi, Garou, Isabelle Boulay, Lydia Képinski, Marjo, P’tit Belliveau, Mélissa Bédard, Scott-Pien Picard, Justin Boulet, Souldia and her 14-year-old colt, Jay Jay.
