War in Ukraine: the Russian noose loosens on the Kharkiv region

In Ukraine, the Russian vice is loosening on the Kharkiv region. “This retreat of the Russian army, we saw it directly on the ground, here in Kharkiv, when we arrived. It should be understood that even less than two weeks ago the Russians were around the city. They completely surrounded Kharkiv, especially to the north and east of this second city of Ukraine”explains Anaïs Hanquetspecial correspondent in Kharkiv.

According to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, “The Ukrainian counter-offensives have made it possible to push back Vladimir Putin’s men, but the situation remains extremely tense on the ground. We have heard [mardi 10 mai], during the day, several bombardments in the north of the city. Bombardments which are daily. When we wanted to go to a nearby village, just on the edge of Kharkiv, the authorities prevented us from going there, even though the village was liberated a few days ago”concludes Anaïs Hanquet.
