A woman was found dead Saturday evening in an apartment in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal. A man is detained in connection with the tragedy.
A call was made to 911 around 5:40 p.m. concerning a possible conflict inside a home located on Bélair Street near 21e avenue.
When the police arrived, the woman was injured in the upper body. “Resuscitation maneuvers had to be carried out, but unfortunately the death of the lady was noted on the scene,” indicated Jean-Pierre Brabant of media relations with the Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM).
A man is in custody and will be interviewed by investigators in the coming hours, Mr. Brabant said. A perimeter was erected on rue Bélair.
