War in Ukraine: soldiers would like to have modern weapons

Bad time on the Donbass. The non-stop rain and the tanks that the soldiers try to hide. “We do this so that the enemies do not see us from the sky”says a Ukrainian soldier. Tankers do with tanks from the Soviet era, not very modern. 3,000 men make up this brigade. According to the commander, there have been several hundred combat deaths over the past two months. Which doesn’t help to keep morale up. “My morale is not good. My parents are under Russian bombardment so here I am, engulfed in this metal machine. I don’t think, I move forward”says a soldier.

These soldiers are losing ground. Only consolation: they stole a more modern tank from the Russians during the Battle of Kharkiv. They demand this type of gear from Westerners. In the infantry, men defend on foot. According to the authorities, 100 soldiers are killed every day, mainly in the infantry by artillery fire. “These bombs are the plague of the infantry”, testifies a man. Every day, 500 soldiers are injured.
