The war between Israel and Hamas appears to have entered a new phase, with ground fighting in the Gaza Strip. Update on what we know.
In images shot by journalists in Gaza, we see a car starting a U-turn when an Israeli tank fires at it. This Monday morning, October 30, dozens of Israeli tanks are positioned on the outskirts of the Al neighborhoods-Zeitoun in Gaza City. They then cut the main road axis between the north and south of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army releases images to prove that it is advancing into Palestinian territory.
Intense fights in the night
Since Friday evening, the IDF has increased ground incursions into the Gaza Strip. Operations supported by intense airstrikes. The Israeli army says it killed dozens of fighters last night in the Gaza Strip, and says it struck more than 600 targets in 24 hours. Hamas, for its part, reported intense fighting during the night in the north of the Gaza Strip, and is increasing its rocket fire towards Israel.
