Urban art develops on the walls of Tours

Major “graffiti”. Since Tuesday August 30, several walls in the city center of Tours have gone from gray to color. At the foot of the Charlemagne tower, the Portuguese artist MrDheo takes care of the wall of the passage of the pilgrim, inaugurated this Friday, September 2. The project, led by the Tours branch of the MUR association (Modulable, urban and responsive), will be regularly renewed, with a new fresco approximately every two months.

On the walls of the Vinci block, 140 square meters of fresco

The Vinci island, near Tours station, is adorned with colors with a fresco of 100 square meters and another of 40 square meters painted on the wall of these buildings whose fate has been uncertain for several years. The town hall of Tours entrusted the keys to this project to the Ateliers de l’Etoile of Vernou-sur-Brenne, which called on two artists. Le Lyonnais Brusk for the largest fresco on the north facade, Tourangeau Dope for the smallest, on the south side.

It’s the first big wall in Tours, it’s an honor for me to come here – Brusk

Brusk, an artist accustomed to street art, had to use a basket to paint his huge tern on a sky blue background. “It’s something I do less and less, large areas like that. They are always fun challenges.” says the Lyonnais. “It’s something monumental and that we share with people. There is a need for satisfaction for me, and for everyone.” The only instruction given by the City of Tours: the frescoes must invite you to travel. Like this bird flying away with a young passenger on its back…
