Top Chef: 8 new Michelin stars for candidates and jurors, grand cru 2022!

Tuesday March 22, 2022, on the eve of the broadcast of a new issue of Top chef on M6, the France 2022 list of the Michelin guide was unveiled in Cognac, in Charente. It thus has 627 stars, including 49 new winners! Among them, several figures from the famous culinary competition, like emblematic candidates, but not only!

In addition to Jean Imbert, decorated with a macaron for his cuisine at the Plaza Athénée in Paris, there are several ex-Top chef to wow the jurors. Ludovic Turacseen in Top chef (season 2, in 2011), won a star for his restaurant A table in the south, in Marseille. Remember that the young chef already knew the winners, since he had already obtained a star in the prestigious Michelin guide between 2015 and 2020 before losing it. Similar course for Florent Ladeynfinalist of the fourth season of Top chefwhich recovers its lost star in 2020 with its Auberge du Vert Montin the north.

Three other emblematic candidates from recent editions of the M6 ​​program have been rewarded. Victor Mercierwho enjoyed success in the ninth season, won a macaroon as well as the 2022 young chef award for his restaurant Fief, located in the 11th arrondissement of the capital. A double reward! On his side, William Popefinalist of the tenth season against his great friend Samuel Albert, can proudly hang a first star at the Spray, its establishment located in Brest. Finally, Matthias Marc, semi-finalist of the twelfth season won by Mohamed Cheikh, also won his first star for his restaurant Substancein Paris.

The jury of Top chef is no exception! Philippe Etchebest, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, returns to the guide’s list with his new house, an address he has just opened in Bordeaux. Chef Hélène Darroze won a star for her Villa La Coste (Bouches-du-Rhône), his sixth all establishments combined! This means that within the jury, there are now no less than thirteen Michelin stars with the three of Glenn Viel at L’Oustau de Baumanière (Bouches-du-Rhône) and the three of Paul Pairet in Shanghai (China). Michel Sarran, ousted from Top chef last summer, was also present: the chef came to support Coline Faulquier, ex-candidate to whom he had provided financial assistance in the greatest secrecy.
