Emmanuel Macron indicated, during his speech on Sunday December 10, that abortion will be enshrined in the Constitution. “Women’s rights, like children’s rights, (…) all essential rights, all human rights must progress and we must protect them everywhere in the world, because no one is safe except a democracy falls and is replaced by a slightly more autocratic government, which would aim to destroy and unravel these rights.estimates Bruno Millienne, MP for Yvelines and spokesperson for Modem.
For his part, Nicolas Bay, MEP and executive vice-president of Reconquête, describes Emmanuel Macron’s speech as “very pretentious”. “Of course there are great general principles to which we are all attached, human rights, dignity, in particular the equality of dignity of all men, but there are rights which are attached to of citizenship”, he recalls. As for abortion in the Constitution, he considers that it is a “bad idea”.
Democracies in danger?
On the subject of the decriminalization of homosexuality, Emmanuel Macron announced that he had appointed an ambassador to the UN. “We all agree that people should not be penalized based on their sexual orientation, that’s obvious”, comments Nicolas Bay. But “let’s not confuse everything”he said. “That does not mean that we give in to all LGBT demands, PMA without a father, GPA…”
