The municipal swimming pools of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) will be free from Wednesday and at least until Friday, reports France Bleu Provence on Tuesday July 18. A decision taken by the city – which activates its level 3 heatwave alert – to fight against the high temperatures. On Twitter, Benoît Payan, the mayor of Marseille, wrote: “To help you deal with the heat wave, the municipal swimming pools of Marseille will be free from tomorrow for everyone, and until the end of the heat wave episode! Take care of yourself and your loved ones, adopt the right reflexes“.

As a reminder, three new Mediterranean departments will be placed on heat wave orange vigilance from Wednesday noon: Bouches-du-Rhône, Gard and Hérault. They are added to the seven already on orange alert: Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Var, Vaucluse, Corse-du-Sud, Haute-Corse, Pyrénées-Orientales.
