Tifany Huot-Marchand, head and legs for an Olympic medal in short-track

On the speed skating short course, Tifany Huot Marchand (dismissed from her lifelong Belfort club, ASMB Vitesse) has been the boss of the “blue-white-red” short-track for three years. She has won all national individual titles since 2019 (500, 1,000 and 1,500 m).

Not to mention several other medals, at international level with the French team: silver at the 2019 European Championships (1,500m) or even, in relay with Les Bleues, this new unprecedented status of European champions then vice-world champions in 2021!

So inevitably, at 27: it’s the quest for an olympic medal now which brings the Franc-Comtoise – Pyrenean by adoption for more than a decade – to these 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing (February 4 to 20).

His olympic medal goal, she put it in her head at the end of her first Olympiad in 2018, concluded beyond the Top 20 … And that also happens, in particular, by a lot of mental work, confides Tifany Huot-Marchand. Between ultra-sharp athletes on the physical and technical levels, this is what can make the difference, she explains, “the management of stress, confidence, especially at the end of the race”.

Tifany Huot-Marchand therefore works on her mental preparation with a coach, but also alone, through cardiac coherence exercises, yoga and meditation.
