Three men wanted for attempted home invasion in Lévis

Three individuals are wanted after they attempted to force their way into a Lévis residence during Saturday evening.

Around 6 p.m., the Lévis City Police Department (SPVL) was called to intervene in connection with a home invasion that occurred on Route Lagueux, in the Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon sector.

“Three hooded suspects came to the door of the home and tried to force entry. One of them was equipped with a handgun,” explains Sergeant Patrick Bouchard of the SPVL.

An altercation allegedly followed between the occupants of the residence and the three unexpected visitors.

The three individuals then fled. The Lévis police force mobilized a dog handler to comb the vast security perimeter set up after the scene.

The police are still looking for the three men, but the search perimeter was lifted overnight.

According to Sergeant Bouchard, it is too early to determine whether this event has a link to the drug war.

Tension

The day after the home invasion, a tense climate reigned in the “usually very quiet” residential area.

“It’s the first time I saw the police there,” says Sarah Bernard, a woman who lives very close to the crime scene. In the current context, this is a bit worrying. We’re barring our doors.”

Other neighbors cautiously stuck their heads out of the door opening to decline the interview request Newspaper.

“We’re not taking chances with everything that’s going on these days. The police came to see us last night and they also looked in the yard to see if the three guys had been there. They took the situation very seriously,” continues a man who lives behind the house where the mysterious scene occurred.

A pellet gun?

TVA News was able to speak with one of the residents of the apartment on Route Lagueux. The latter provided a completely different version from that of the police.

She says she lives there with her three children, two in their twenties and another six years old. The lady maintains that the thugs did not try to break in: they would have rather rung the doorbell.

According to the mother, there would have been no altercation with the impromptu visitors either. She would not have been afraid, since the young people would have been armed with an air pistol and not a firearm.

Despite the victim’s testimony, the SPVL did not want to change its version of the facts, stressing that “the investigation will shed light on this matter which is taken very seriously.”

Two violent events

It was the second violent event of the weekend in the region. Friday, a 27-year-old man was arrested after an attempted murder of a 60-year-old woman on rue de Repentigny, in Quebec.

The victim, who would be the mother of her attacker according to our information, was seriously injured by a bladed weapon. She remained in critical condition on Sunday.
