Thomas Sotto explains how Laurent Delahousse took him off the air overnight!

Every morning of the week, Thomas Sotto hosts on France 2 the famous show Telematin, alongside Julia Vignali. An activity that he doubles in the evening on RTL since he also presents a news program there. As a bonus, a journalist known and appreciated by the public, he is the joker of his channel for the 8 p.m. news and, normally, for the 8:30 p.m. magazine part of Laurent Delahousse. Yes, but here we are, faced with his recent absence, Eric Dussart cannot help but question the journalist, then invited, this Saturday, March 11, 2023, on his show We redo the TVon RTL. “A question of truth…” begins the media presenter, officiating alongside Jade. “This time it concerns your post as Laurent Delahousse’s joker on the weekend news. The last time you replaced him was at the end of February and then something surprised me, why that weekend you did not perform, contrary to usual, the 8:30 p.m. presentation on Sunday, the magazine ?” asks the presenter. Thomas Sotto, not losing a slightly smirk, then replies: “It’s something that surprised me a little too, to tell you the truth…”

“I don’t find it super relevant for the antenna”

Eric Dussart continues: “Because currently you are doing it, you are with the guests…”. And the journalist France 2 to explain: It’s been like this for six years. There, the rule has changed. I’m completely honest, I didn’t really understand why, it’s Laurent’s decision so I accept it, I don’t find it very relevant for the antenna. It was announced in a bit of a brutal way, honestly. I was preparing for 8:30 p.m. with Stephan Eicher and then I was told the rules are changing… afterwards, I’m not going to do onedrama… It changed a few days before, and afterwards it’s Laurent’s baby, I don’t dispute that (…) it was he who at the beginning had said to me ‘Come,I want you to come to France 2to be my joker at 8 p.m. and at 8:30 p.m.… well, it’s not a big deal… We talked about it.” Intrigued and wanting to know more, the host of We redo the TV tries to push him to his limits. But Thomas Sotto prefers to slip away by explaining that what is said in private must remain so according to the precepts of education that his parents had given him… But a bit upset, the latter ends up admitting that “it’s an exercise he loves and he misses not doing it… That’s what I told him”, he concludes, still visibly wondering about this decision to oust him without real reason.
