Wednesday, April 20, will be held the debate between the two rounds between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron on France 2 and TF1 with Gilles Bouleau and Léa Salamé. But before this event, Jean-Luc Mélenchon was on BFM-TV against Bruce Toussaint, this Tuesday, April 19. “I call on the French to elect me Prime Minister”released the leader of France Insoumis. “I will be the Prime Minister not by the favor or the grace of Mr. Macron or Mrs. Le Pen, but because the French will have wanted it”did he declare.
The candidate, who came third in the first round of the presidential election with 21.95% of the vote, believes that“there is a third round” to play with the legislative elections next June. “I ask them for this to elect a majority of rebellious deputies”he explained. “The question of who is president at this time” in the event of cohabitation does not count in his eyes, because “it is the Prime Minister who signs the decrees (…)I don’t want Madame Le Pen to take over the country and Monsieur Macron to keep power (…) If I don’t fight for this victory, I give them all the power.”
The politician “calls on all those who want to join the Popular Union to join (him) for this beautiful battle”. He said he wanted to be “the Prime Minister to apply (his) program”. The one who casts doubt on his last participation in a presidential election refused to come out in favor of Emmanuel Macron, however: “Don’t vote for Le Pen. I’m not telling you to vote for Mr. Macron” and calls on its militants “to make the right choice”. During this interview, he spoke of the outgoing president in very harsh words. “I tell Mr. Macron that it is better to avoid twisting my arm, I don’t like it at all”, he said before explaining that he refused to speak to the latter. “No I don’t want to talk because he can’t hold his tongue”.
