In France, the collective “Miscarriage, true experience” is campaigning so that natural terminations of pregnancy can be better recognized. Co-founder Judith Aquien presents the concrete measures she proposes.
Miscarriages, or “natural terminations of pregnancy” as the collective “Faussecouche, vrai experienced” call them, are frequent events that are not sufficiently recognized today in France according to its co-founder Judith Aquien.
Education is one of the important points among the different demands of the collective. “It’s abnormal that we find out so late, only when we live it, what a miscarriage is”, explains Judith Aquien.
The co-founder emphasizes the importance of taking mental trauma into account, through measures such as the establishment of a paid work stoppage, psychological monitoring or even listening platforms.
“It’s a way of acknowledging the pain of these women and therefore of releasing them from this shame, this guilt, this feeling of isolation.”, emphasizes Judith Aquien.
