They are flowers made in France : they are also cultivated and can be bought in short circuit in Paris. Two flower farms have sprung up in recent years.

Hidden behind the cemetery of Belleville, in Paris, it is a small bucolic islet where the tumult of the city disappears. For the past five years, a learned gardener has grown over 200 varieties of flowers on a small piece of land. The first to have created a flower farm in the capital is Parisian. Today, she wants to relaunch the industry. The region has only a hundred horticulturalists, compared to more than 600 at the end of the 1980s.

“Île-de-France in particular, with the PACA region and Brittany, was one of the three major flower centers in France. It is starting to no longer be so”, explains Masami Charlotte Lavault, floriculturalist. A culture that exists elsewhere in Paris, notably on the roof of the Robert-Debré hospital. Here, no chemical fertilizers or pesticides, banned in the capital and contrary to the philosophy of horticulturalists.
