For a third year, Pierre-Louis Gosselin-Lavoie is offering his groups a project entitled At least that’s beautiful!
When carrying out their task, his students have the obligation to go outside to observe their environment. They must photograph an element that they find “beautiful”, which makes them vibrate, which moves them. Each image must be accompanied by a reflection of varying length, depending on the school level of the young person.

Here is my village. This is my home, my family and my story. This photo was taken in my field. It represents everything I love about the place where I live, starting with this magnificent village of Leclercville, with all its old houses over a hundred years old. The general store, which belonged to my grandfather, was like a gathering place. There is also the La Falaise school. We were only two classes in this school. We were all very close, a bit like a big family.
I have experienced so many beautiful things in this village that I don’t think I can part with it. The city has always disgusted me, because I knew that no matter where I would go, I would never find a better place to live than Leclercville. From my bedroom window, I can see the whole village, the river and the oak river. I can see sunsets and sunrises. Behind my house, there is my field and my forest. No matter where I am on my land, I always feel like I have no neighbors.
Even though I’m in the middle of the village, it’s complete silence. My favorite place is in my forest. No matter the season, she is always gorgeous. I feel like I’m alone. I’m always happy when I’m there. There are also many animals. Foxes, deer, squirrels, wild turkeys, partridges and raccoons. I have met them all! In this mixed forest, everything seems distant to me. I come out of my reality. I can refocus on myself and on the beauty that surrounds me. It always smells good.
In the picture, there are snow blades in my field. When you look from afar, it looks like an ocean full of waves. I found the photo very beautiful because of its sunset. Its rays reflected on the clouds.
I am a Beaudet. Many people in my family stayed in Leclercville. So much has happened here. Now I understand why the first in the family have always stayed there. It is a rare pearl and they have understood its beauty. It’s so beautiful that I lose words. I love it from the bottom of my heart, because it is my “home”.
