Air France and Airbus are on trial for manslaughter in the trial of the crash of the Rio-Paris flight, which opens on Monday, October 10, 13 years after the facts. “These are two aeronautical giants who are on the bench of the defendants”, explains journalist Thomas Cuny, live from the Paris court. Air France and Airbus are criticized for a lack of transparency concerning probe incidents, “this small device which is on the cabins and which makes it possible to calculate the speed. That evening, probably, they were faulty”, details the journalist.
Moreover, the pilots were not trained for this type of accident. “The families of victims, the civil parties (…) are waiting to know what happened, to know the chain of responsibilities”, continues Thomas Cuny. They want to know why flight AF447 connecting Paris to Rio (Brazil) crashed on the 1st June 2009, killing 228 people.
