After two years on social networks and digital, due to Covid, the Printemps des Rillettes has put the dishes in the big ones for its return!
Nearly 72 events are announced from Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 March in the four corners of Sarthe, with a great outpouring of solidarity. Indeed, many actions are planned to support several associations (Ukraine, League against Cancer, Compagnie des Ailes du Rire in particular).
A festive atmosphere
After the official launch on Saturday March 19, the first highlight is expected on Sunday March 20 at the Arche de la Nature in Le Mans with the unmissable pig party. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., demonstrations, tastings and musical scenes will take place around the Maison de la Prairie.
Throughout the week, the bars, restaurants and bistros of Sarthe will vibrate to the rhythm of the R&B Festival, contraction of “Rillettes and Bar Festival”. In the participating establishments, menus and local specialties will be served to you in a musical atmosphere, accompanied of course by rillettes.
A recipe competition with rillettes
Connerré, the cradle of Sarthoise rillettes, welcomes Saturday, March 26 the contest of cooking recipes with pork rillettes. Organized by the brotherhood of the Knights of Sarthe Rillettes, this event brings together professionals, individuals and even schools.
Sweet, salty, hot, cold… all recipes are welcome, provided they contain at least 20% pork rillettes. Registrations are closed but to attend the presentation, meet from 8 am to 10 am in the former Prunier factory, which it will also be possible to visit free of charge in the company of retired employees.
A village of rillettes in Le Mans
The producers of Rillettes de la Sarthe and the festival partners invite you to the grand finale on Sunday March 27 in Le Mans. A village of rillettes will be installed on the Place des Jacobins from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., accompanied by numerous activities.
The organizers have thus planned a release of clowns, a parade of dresses with pots of rillettes, floral creations with pots of rillettes, music and bands… not to mention a competition that the Sarthe hopes to win this year: the record for the longest rillette sandwich in the world, currently held by Mayenne.
