In France, more than two people die every day in work accidents. On July 28, 2021, Cédric Carton died on a construction site. An “undeniable lack of support”
After the death of her brother, Candice Carton went to the gendarmerie twice to report a “undeniable lack of support”. She explains feeling “powerless, destitute and completely isolated” faced with the lack of answers. In France, workers are five times more victims of work accidents than other employees. Candice Carton regrets that the victims are often young men who lack experience or training and “that we throw on construction sites”. “I want and I hope that the company will be sanctioned, but not just the company.
