This is bad news for owners: the property tax will increase further, by around 10 to 15% compared to 2021. We talk about it with Gaspard de Florival, present on the set of 12/13, Wednesday 27 July.

LOwners will have to pay a 10 to 15% higher property tax in 2022. How does this increase translate in practice for owners? According to a recent study of the twenty largest cities in France, “owners will have to pay more this year for their property“, indicates Gaspard de Florival, on the set of 12/13, Wednesday July 27. “Example, a couple with two children, who live in a 70 m² apartment will pay an average of 105 euros in property tax this year, plus 4 euros compared to 2021.“, explains the journalist.

It is a constant increase, which has increased by 27.9% over ten years. An increase which is explained by “the financing needs of municipalities. With the disappearance of the housing tax, it is really the last tax thanks to which the communities can increase their income“, explains the journalist. The disparities are significant on the territory, “overall, medium-sized cities have the highest property taxes“, specifies Gaspard de Florival. Nîmes (Gard) and Angers (Maine-et-Loire) are in the lead. The journalist advises, if you do not have a specific location constraint“, to take the time “to look at the rate applied by the municipality“.
