Whatever happens, Indre will taste Olympics in 2024! The Olympic flame will pass through Berry.
The announcement was made Thursday evening by the departmental council of Indre, following a meeting between Marc Fleuret, president of the departmental council, and Tony Estanguet, Chairman of the Games Organizing Committee.
The exact route is not yet determined, but the flame “will pass in several sites of the Indre” assures the Department. When submitting its request for the passage of the flame, the departmental council had indicated that it had already thought about a place of passage: the Departmental Sports Plain.
A sign which can be seen as encouraging before the final decision concerning the shooting events of the Paris Games, which Châteauroux could host.
According to our colleagues from the Team, the departments wishing to be a stage in the journey of the flame must however put their hands in their pockets, up to approximately 150,000 euros.
