The Liberals quickly jumped on the controversy caused by the CAQ leader from day 1 of the campaign. Mr. Legault spoke of Dominique Anglade as “this lady”, when he wanted to reply to her on the theme of the economy – the “question of the ballot box” which the Liberal leader wishes to impose in an attempt to return to the basic game of his party.

In her speech to activists, she reiterated her economic plea that she presented earlier at a press conference in Quebec.

Dominique Anglade considers that François Legault disrespected him. “These are comments that have no place,” she said. I invite Mr. Legault to elevate the debate, and elevating the debate means that you call a person by name […]. Respecting your vis-à-vis means calling them by their name, ”she later argued during a brief press scrum in Montreal in the middle of the afternoon.

Between 200 and 300 Liberal activists gathered in LaFontaine, in Montreal’s east end, for the campaign launch — 400, according to host Marc Tanguay, incumbent MP. The party got us used to bigger crowds for Day 1.

Marc Tanguay, who was called upon to warm up the room, did not hesitate to give the reply to François Legault. “Talking about this lady… When we say that her head doesn’t go through the door frame! It’s arrogance! It is contempt! We have a message for François Legault: this lady, she is an engineer, she has business experience for more than 20 years, she is leader of the official opposition, she is leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, her name is Dominique Anglade and will be the next Premier of Quebec! he asserted.
