The investigation into blue Stars of David stencilled in the streets of Paris and Ile-de-France “will now continue within the framework of a judicial investigation”announced Tuesday, November 7, the Paris prosecutor’s office in a press release.
“At this stage, it cannot be ruled out that the marking of the blue Stars of David in the Paris region was carried out at the express request of a person living abroad”writes the prosecution in its press release, specifying that this opening of a judicial investigation will make it possible to“identify the authors” and D’“analyze the intention that guided this operation”.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, the use of video surveillance made it possible to establish that the inscriptions of the Stars of David made on the night of October 30 to 31 “were made by a man and a woman during a single journey, in the presence of a third person who photographed these damages”. These two people left French territory the following afternoon.
“A connection was established with an investigation into other acts committed four days previously”October 27, “resulting in the arrest of a man and a woman” of Moldovan nationality. The latter had declared “having acted at the request of a third party and for remuneration, as evidenced by a conversation in Russian on their telephone”. These telephone searches “allows us to believe that the two pairs of authors were in contact with the same third person”.
