The House of Wine and Cheese in Oloron-Ste-Marie a historic delicatessen

La maison du vin et du fromage is a delicatessen that has existed for 43 years in Oloron-Ste-Marie. After Christine (sister of chef Pierre Chilo at Barcus) and Dominique Riboulet, Philippe Anchen is taking over this grocery store filled with carefully selected products. Several generations of gourmets know this excellent address. After 23 years spent in a design office Philippe Anchen pushes the door of the store and takes it over, the simple stories are often the most beautiful.

The House of Wine and Cheese

The wine and cheese house is historically the store that sold shepherds’ tomme and local wines in Oloron-Ste-Marie

Philippe Anchen is a true professional, in love with good things and those who make them, he does not hesitate to suggest surprising combinations such as a Brillat savarin with truffles with a late harvest from the Cauhapé estate in Monein. The local cheeses come from the circus of Lescun at the moment the Mont D’or du Haut-Doubs, Swiss cheeses but also white wines with bubbles from 4 corners of Béarn and France. You can find in this cave of Ali Baba a wine made from mead with bubbles, a white wine produced in Béarn also with bubbles. You have to follow the demands of the moment if it’s locally it’s even better. Philippe ANCHEN selects for you farmhouse cheeses, cold meats, fine wines, spirits, champagnes, artisanal preserves, jams, honeys and the list is not exhaustive!
