Already European and world junior champion in mountain biking, Line Burquier confirms her rise in the world of French cycling. At only 18 years old, the Haut-Savoyarde of the AS Bike Racing team becomes French cyclo-cross champion this Sunday, January 9 in Liévin, in the Pas-de-Calais.
After his two rankings in the junior category, she obtains the title in the “elites” this time, from his first attempt, by achieving a flawless course. It was after mid-race, in her third lap (out of four) that she made the difference, ahead of her teammate Hélène Clauzel by 14 seconds.
Clément Venturini gives up his title
Clément Venturini, however big favorite, finished in tenth and last place, after two falls during the first lap. Quadruple defending champion, the AG2R Citroën rider gives up his place of winner to Joshua Dubau (Team Peltrax), 25 years old.
