The former mayor of Fleury-Mérogis in Essonne between 2009 and 2017, David Derrouet, was indicted on Thursday December 7 for “passive corruption” for suspicion of waste trafficking by an organized gang, according to information from franceinfo confirmed by the parquet floor in Paris. The former mayor was also placed under judicial supervision.
David Derrouet was arrested on letters rogatory as part of an investigation opened in June 2018 for “organized waste trafficking”, “organized extortion”, “criminal conspiracy” and “corruption”.
Investigators from the Versailles Banditry Suppression Brigade (BRB) as well as those from the Central Office for Combating Attacks on the Environment and Public Health (Oclaesp) have highlighted a “mafia-like system” allowing members of Parisian organized crime to launder significant sums in the waste processing sector around the company Terrasol.
