The day after an evening which would have been marked by gestures and cries with racist connotations, the authorities reacted. Traveling to Nancy, Wednesday October 11, at the Marcel-Picot stadium (in National), the Red Star players were allegedly targeted by mimes and monkey cries from opposing supporters, according to their coach Habib Beye.
In response, the disciplinary committee of the French Football Federation (FFF) will open a procedure following the “alleged racist incidents”, announced the body on Thursday October 12 in a press release. Earlier in the day, AS Nancy-Lorraine held “to condemn with the greatest firmness the unacceptable and intolerable behavior of some people present in the stands of the Marcel-Picot Stadium this Wednesday, as well as to provide support and apologize to the Red Star players”.
In this same press release, the club also declares “only after viewing the video surveillance images of the night”, AS Nancy-Lorraine “identified an individual, whose identity remains unknown for the moment.
