The director general of the national gendarmerie visits the investigators in charge of investigations in the case of the death of Émile in Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) this Thursday, franceinfo learned from the gendarmerie.

Nearly nine months after the disappearance of the 2 and a half year old boy and five days after the discovery of part of the bones near the hamlet, Christian Rodriguez went there because of the “strong commitment of the gendarmes“.

Around thirty gendarmes are currently searching the site of the discovery of the bones, out of around a hundred present on site, as well as two dog teams, specialized in the search for human remains, and experts from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie ( IRCGN). The teams are notably constituted “of anthropologists“who will allow”to exploit to the maximum“the investigators’ data. Furthermore, these IRCGN teams can “model the scene“discovery of bones, thanks to”discovery scene virtualization techniques“.

The discovery zone “will be closed as long as investigators need to work in a protected environment“, recalled the commander of the gendarmerie group Pierre-Yves Bardy, during a press conference on Monday April 1. The area has been completely prohibited from access since the discovery of the bones.
