The electoral campaign will officially begin on Sunday, the government of François Legault announced on Tuesday. This gives candidates just over a month to convince voters.
“On August 28, it officially begins,” Prime Minister Legault said on Twitter.

For the campaign to be officially launched, the prime minister will first have to go to the office of the lieutenant-governor in order to dissolve Parliament. It is only from there that the various parties will be able to launch their campaign.
Under the new rules on fixed-date elections, it was already known that the ballot would take place on October 3, leaving a choice of five dates for the call between August 25 and 29.
The launch on the 28th will give a total of 35 days to the various contending parties to campaign.
