Sylvie Tellier leaves Miss France: Revelation of her replacement and clarification

At the beginning of the summer, rumors circulated about the departure of Sylvie Tellier from the Miss France society, after more than fifteen years of service. Indeed, the arrival of Alexia Laroche-Joubert within the presidency during the fall of 2021 announced changes, such as the relaxation of certain registration criteria. In The Parisian, the influential figure of the PAF and TF1 had assured that the one who officiated until now as general manager would indeed be in her position for the 2022 election, without going too far further. Now things are clear, the main interested party spoke bluntly in the columns of TV Magazine – Le Figaro.

Sylvie Tellier revealed her big decision: “I left my position as general manager of Miss France on the evening of August 30. It’s a major life change for me after seventeen years of involvement in the competition. But it’s not my company, and I wanted to give a new direction to my career.” A change that will take place smoothly since Miss France 2002 will remain a consultant until the next election: “Alexia Laroche-Joubert alone assumes the functions of president and general manager of the Miss France company and chose Cindy Fabre [Miss France 2005] for help. She offered me to keep an advisory role alongside them until December, which I accepted, because it was important for me to accompany our partners until the election.

Cutting short the rumors that the arrival of Alexia Laroche-Joubert pushed her towards the exit, Sylvie Tellier gives the precise reasons for her departure: “I am not leaving because of the arrival of Alexia Laroche-Joubert, who is a great television professional, but because I feel that I have achieved my objectives.“Delighted with her record, the historic beauty queen regrets, however, certain remarks that may have hurt, ensuring that she learned from her mistakes.

Geneviève de Fontenay had quickly reacted to the first rumors about the departure of Sylvie Tellier, the one who had succeeded her not without a crash in 2007. If the lady in the hat seemed appeased at the end of 2020 after years of conflict, she affirmed in the pages of France Sunday that it was indeed Alexia Laroche-Joubert who had eliminated her: “I did not digest at all what she had done to me these last years whereas I will not cry on her. […] His dismissal doesn’t make me hot or cold.”
