Health Quebec | Christiane Germain at the head of the board of directors

(Quebec) After the appointment of Geneviève Biron at the head of Santé Québec, Christian Dubé appoints another “top gun in the private sector”, businesswoman Christiane Germain, to the presidency of the board of directors. Régine Laurent, Diane Lamarre, Stanley Vollant and Lise Verreault also find a place around the table.

The Legault government continues the establishment of Santé Québec, the new agency which will be responsible for managing the operations of the health and social services network, by announcing the composition of the first board of directors. The council of ministers gave the green light to the appointments on Wednesday.

It is Christiane Germain, co-founder and co-president of the Germain Group which is behind the Le Germain hotel chain, who takes the presidency. “Groupe Germain inc. is a family business whose quality of customer service and staff development are at the heart of its mission, putting forward a human and innovative approach,” it is argued in a press release sent at the end of the day on Wednesday. .

The minister personally asked Ms. Germain to fill the position, we were told. She then followed the recruitment process of the Secretariat for Senior Employment.

“Mme Germain wishes to contribute his experience and expertise so that Quebecers are proud of their health and social services network and their experience when they receive care and services. M’s visionme Germain is complementary to that of Mme Biron, whose priority is to improve access to services for the Quebec population,” we write.

The former president of the Special Commission on the Rights of Children and Youth Protection, Régine Laurent, is also named. We are also counting on the presence of Innu surgeon Stanley Vollant who is currently medical advisor for the Health and Social Services Commission of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador.

Quebec is also recruiting Lise Verreault, a shadow actress who has held several important positions in the health network, including that of deputy minister. She was often called in for reinforcement in times of crisis, notably during the death of Joyce Echaquan.

The former president of the Order of Pharmacists of Quebec and former PQ MP, Diane Lamarre, also sits on the board of directors, as does the doctor specializing in geriatrics, Dr.r David Lussier, who was notably part of the committee to better prevent the deconditioning of seniors, created by Marguerite Blais during the pandemic in 2020.

More than 600 candidates submitted their CVs to be on the board of directors of Santé Québec.

Santé Québec is one of the level 1 state corporations and the annual remuneration of the members of the board of directors is $21,200, indicates the Secrétariat aux emploi supérieur.
