Disclosure of evidence is still not complete. “Some investigative steps remain to be done to this day, so for the moment the report remains under seal. It is a long investigation to do to determine all the elements that can be found at the crime scene, ”explains the prosecutor in the file, Me Karine Dalphond.

“There is part of the investigation that is continuing and expertise to be obtained which actually concerns the bus”, confines itself to saying Me Dalphond who cannot go into details.

The investigation into Pierre Ny St-Amand’s file is ongoing, regardless of the conclusion of the accused’s psychiatric report. “The investigation is continuing until the end so that we can be able to make a decision. The investigation is not stopped.

The accused, who is still interned at the Philippe-Pinel Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, will be back in court on August 22. “I am not in a position to tell you where we will be in the stages for August 22,” said Me Dalphond.

The psychiatric evaluation requested by the defense lawyer aims to determine his criminal responsibility at the time of the tragedy, on February 8.

The 22-page report was sealed on April 26. “It is under seal to prevent members of the public from reading the report, which contains very personal information about the file and the situation of Mr. St-Amand”, specifies the Crown prosecutor in the file.

Pierre Ny St-Amand is charged with two premeditated murders, one attempted murder and several assault charges.
