“Speak your mind” and “The clouds”, Ian Kelly

Where does the creation of new songs go? Who knows. For Ian Kelly, a prolific, adventurous person as happy within the M. Chandler group as in his own brand, bilingual in heart and words, it was first of all the desire to reinvent his album Speak Your Mind, published in 2008. By orchestrating it more ambitiously, by dressing it for a live performance. However, these sumptuous attires unknowingly called for a counterpart. Simple songs slipped into the gaps, enough to justify another record. In French, this one, imbued with the poetry of everyday life where the clouds pass and life takes place. Delicate instrumentation, essential message. An example ? “I would like you to hear what I hear / A storm of poetry in the hearts of our children / And the most beautiful years of your life / Are ahead”, whispers Ian in the aptly named Become old. Revisiting to better describe the landscape on the horizon in the present. It deserves two discs.
