It’s off the coast in Florida (United States), that Thomas Pesquet will land after its trip aboard the capsule ISS. 24 hours before its landing. Journalist Loïc de la Mornais is on site for France Télévisions.
In front of a rough sea, Loïc de la Mornais points out the reasons for the return of Thomas Pesquet has been delayed by 24 hours. The beaches of Cape Canaveral are the terrain of strong winds and maritime turmoil. The return of NASA and SpaceX is therefore postponed to avoid the complications of recovery.
The capsule is to land offshore, and several SpaceX myriad ships will need to approach the capsule first in order to verify that all is well. These checks require calm seas, which is not the case on Sunday, November 7. This is the reason why the arrival of Thomas Pesquet will take place on Tuesday, November 9 at four in the morning. A helicopter will pick him up with his teammates to take him to a first NASA center then a second in Houston (Texas), before his return to Europe in Cologne (Germany).
