The High Authority for Health speaks in the afternoon of Monday, December 20, on the need to extend vaccination to all children from five to eleven years old, whether they are at risk or not.

In a vaccination center in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), several children can now receive their first dose of vaccine. “When I saw that they were accepting people under the age of ten, I was like ‘I’m going to get the vaccine because I’m fed up'”, testifies a little girl, who affirms to have asked of herself to receive her first dose.

Faced with the threat of the Omicron variant, and the strong circulation of the virus among children, parents prefer to play it safe a few days before Christmas. “She’s going to see her two great-grandmothers, who are 94 and 96 years old. They are still a bit immune-deficient, so I would prefer if they were vaccinated before coming.”, says a mother who intends to spend the end of year holidays with her relatives. From Wednesday, December 22, the vaccine could be extended to all children aged five to eleven.
