A snowmobiler was fighting for his life on Sunday after hitting a tree head-on on the edge of a trail in Saint-Cuthbert, in Lanaudière.

The elderly man in his sixties was riding on federated trail 63 with two other snowmobilers when he lost control of his car around 9 a.m., summarized Hélène St-Pierre, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec .
The victim suffered serious life-threatening injuries.
An investigator specializing in accident scene reconstruction went to the scene to try to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
