(Montreal) A new rocket designed to transport humans to the Moon, Mars and beyond will be launched next year from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. On board will be a familiar character: Snoopy.
A plush 5-ounce version of the dreamy beagle – wearing a spacesuit designed to strict NASA specifications – will have important work for the Artemis I unmanned mission.
NASA uses stuffed animals on flights, because when they start to float, it indicates that the spacecraft has entered the weightlessness of space. Since the toys are soft and light, they won’t break anything or accidentally catch buttons.
