(Montreal) A Delta plane coming from New York had to make an emergency landing at Montreal-Trudeau airport Friday afternoon.
Aéroports de Montréal spokesperson Anne-Sophie Hamel indicated that the landing was caused by smoke on board and that there were no injuries.
Mme Hamel said the airport authority was informed that the event was not related to mechanical problems.
A Delta representative, Anthony Black, said the crew declared an emergency and landed the plane without incident.
Mr. Black mentioned that passengers were evacuated onto the tarmac as a precaution.
The cause of the incident is being investigated, he added.
