Six years later, time for assessments at the great mosque of Quebec

Six years to the day after the fateful evening that cost the lives of six men and injured eight others, it was time for the balance sheets at the great mosque of Quebec. If Ottawa, the City of Quebec and Quebecers were all entitled to flowers, the Legault government was entitled to pots.

“Six years have passed, but the stains left by this attack are indelible”, launched the president of the Islamic Cultural Center, Mohamed Labidi, at the start of his speech on Sunday. “January 29 must remain a reminder that the trivialization of intolerance can be armed with the revolver of hatred”.
